Hello everyone! Today, I'd like to talk about a special event at Samsung Medical Center called Fixnic. Fixnic is an outing-like event organized for children with severe illnesses and their families, and it was held for the first time this year at Everland in Yongin. The name is a combination of PHCS, which stands for Pediatric Home Care Service, and Picnic.

Meaning and Purpose of the Event

The purpose of Fixnic is to provide children who require various medical equipment, such as ventilators and feeding tubes, with an opportunity to go out, and to offer rest and relaxation to families who are exhausted from long-term care. This event was made possible through donations from Simmons, a sleep specialty brand.

Event Progress

Four children with significant medical needs, who are receiving pediatric palliative and home care services at Samsung Medical Center, were invited to this event along with their families. The hospital conducted pre-checks and consultations to assess their health status and prepared necessary supplies for emergencies. Medical staff were also present on-site to ensure the families could enjoy the event with peace of mind.
