News has emerged that OliX's investigational obesity drug candidate, OLX501A, has shown outstanding results in trials with obese primates. This drug reduced visceral fat by 29.2%, demonstrating superior efficacy compared to global competitors. Clinical Trial with Obese Primates
This study was a direct comparative trial involving obese monkeys. OLX501A and a global competitor drug were administered twice at a dosage of 3mg/kg, one month apart, after which various indicators were evaluated. The evaluation items included target gene inhibition rate, changes in visceral fat, and efficacy-related biomarkers.

Effective Fat Decomposition Mechanism
OLX501A aims to promote fat decomposition by inhibiting the expression of the ALK7 gene in adipocytes. Notably, it has the potential to reduce body fat without relying on appetite suppression. At 70 days post-administration, the ALK7 target gene inhibition rate measured in subcutaneous fat was approximately 90%, similar to the competitor drug. However, the significant difference in visceral fat reduction indicates that OLX501A more effectively translated target inhibition into actual fat decomposition and body composition improvement.
OliX's Future Plans
OliX CEO Lee Dong-ki stated, "OLX501A aims for body composition improvement by selectively reducing body fat and maximally preserving muscle mass, rather than just causing weight loss." He added, "We will proceed with non-clinical development without delay, aiming to submit the clinical trial plan in the first half of 2027." If these plans are realized, it could significantly change the paradigm of obesity treatment.
